Prize Prick, our Hare Raiser, takes over the duties as RA - Lakey, our RA, is missing. A couple virgin runners join us. |
|
After a short vehicle-pool ride the pack starts off on a long run along the beach, back in the direction we had come. |
|
The beach trail was a good idea, unless you were a slow runner. |
About 16 minutes after the runners started along the beach, our first walking group photo, and Water Nympho seems happy to see a tree. |
Masterbaker, Boomerang, High Beams, and Hoopalong Chastity |
|
Hoops joins the ebullient Numbnuts (to the left), Blue Ball (in the middle), and Masterbaker. After the climb Numbnuts is not ebullient enough to check for new trails. |
Over some time the rest of the back catches up, as the check is treated and a HH. |
Testicular, and Puss in Boots |
It looks like Sir My Cocks A Fallen is trying to get Stoolie Andrews going, while Lakey is doing the same with Flirt. |
From the Lookout 1The famous MV CoHo is inbound for Victoria. |
From the Lookout 2Victoria's Ogden Point and the Harbour Authority's deep-sea berths, and cruise ship facilities. |
At the same time the runners were about to climb another hill, Cardinal Sin leads the walker on an arduous country trail. |
Two minutes after the previous walkers photo was taken, the runners have started up the second part of the hill, to Perimeter Park 1. |
The payoff for climbing a hill is often the view. The Esquimalt Lagoon Bird Sanctuary, Coburg Peninsula, Colwood Waterfront, Fisgard Lighthouse, and Esquimalt Waterfront.

Nine minutes after the view, we found this Christmas train on the trail. This great display was at
315 Milburn Dr. I wonder what the story is about
the boy in the window? I hope it was a happy one. |
At the same time the walkers found a fire hydrant. Just Jen seems to like this hydrant. |
The runners make it to Royal Roads woods. |
Going Green, Hashers Help a Tree |
The missing Jonners caught up to the pack! |
Woodland Hashing Beauties |
|
The discovery of this 'branch' off of a larger western red cedar ( Thuja plicata), amused (or excited) various Hashers. From this point on it has become know as The Penis Tree. |
The walkers and runners find the BC. |
Proof that "size doesn't matter" is a myth? |
High Beams with Just Paul, Richard the Trurd's younger son, and on his first New Year's Polar Bear Hash. |
Branching Out |
Numbnuts has a 2 point to make. |

Branching Out with Beverage |
Above it All Big Tree Small Hasher |
Pantsdownbooty finds her own branch. She had to use some resolve to get up there. |
Lakey decided we will circle up at the BC, and Muck Sucker and Cardinal Sin, the Hares, are honoured first. |
Hashers circle up. |
Stoolie gets the first charged for complaining about who the RA was. As Prize Prick is a Mismanagement members, he took up the RA role at the starting circle. Though not an obloquy, but a grumble, the main expectation is that respect be paid to whomever was running the circle. Stools gets a down-downed. |
Pantsdownbooty and Boomerang highly visible neon trainers... |
... happily earns them the honour of a down-down. |
|
The distinguished Sir My Cocks A Fallen and Pussy Whipped Blue Buck, mainly for both having names over 20 characters long (!), are not short of accomplishing a shared punishment. |
Lakey has two more down-downs in hand, and is looking for advice as to who gets them. |
Picking bits of the forest from her punishment. |
Thinking it was a slumber party, Water Nympho get a down-down. |
The RA wasn't at the start, so finally someone tells her there are to Virgins to punish. |
Hashers are starting to get cold. |
Looking for future and past injuries, Udderly Stupid, wearing street shoe to run in, and Puss in Boots, sporting an injury to his knee, both gets down-downs. |
Jonners is finally punished for making the dogs the BLABs... and I guess he was a BLAB too. |
Circle done. Hashers make it to the waterfront. Polar bear splash in initial preparations. |
Hashers mingled as others are slower to change into bathing suits. |
|
Numbnuts Some people are better photographed when they are not expecting it. |
It's like waxing, to remove excess body hair, it's better to inflict the shock and pain fast. |
The rocky beach and darkness makes doing it 'fast' difficult. Once they get to their waist,... |
..., and with some even to their midriffs, something akin to a baptismal immersion happens,... |
...and then it's a much faster exit to towels and clothing. |
Bearing the Cold (or Denial, or Crazy) |
Cool Excitement |
Cold Support |
Some hashers dried off and change into dry clothing on the beach. Obviously some didn't. |
Some masochism chose not to wear their shoe back to Muck Suckers. |
From the beach, and the road, to the hot tub. With all those bodies, and not a small amount of sand. |
True Hashing Polar Bears |

The last caption was an attempted segue into the pot luck that followed. |
A contented Masterbaker with bread in hand. |
Having a meal on the floor is so wonderfully bohemian. |
A busy guy. Bad to the Bone has his plate full. |
The dynamic eating duo. |
Out-cheezing a bowl of Cheese Pleasers. We were joined by Mark, friend of the family. |
