FEBRUARY 2, 1947 TO SEPTEMBER 6, 2009 DONALD JOHN COLLIER Don died at Vancouver General Hospital while listening to his much loved classical music with his wife by his side. The Leukemia Don fought off so valiantly in 2003 came back with a vengeance. Pre-deceased by his parents Rosella and John (Jack) Collier of Saskatoon, his first wife Sheri Boyle and second wife Cathy Brownrigg. Survived by his loving wife Helen, step-mother Helen (Sabo) Collier of Saskatoon, brothers Allan of Nelson, BC and Ken of Red Deer AB, nephew Matt Collier (Sandra) of La Ronge, SK, grandniece Gina Clinton of Morrisburg, ON, and aunt Orpha Clark of Dundurn, SK. Many cousins in the Lindberg, Wilde, Brunelle, Wood, Huenison, Mercer, Clark, and Holborg families across Western Canada. Joined Canada's Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade in 1974, with postings in Soeul, South Korea; Islamabad, Pakistan; Port of Spain, Trinidad; Bangkok, Thailand; Hong Kong, China; and home office in Ottawa. Brief contract immigration service at British Embassy in Hong Kong. Avid Hash House Harrier participant in several countries around the world, currently a member of Victoria Hash House Harriers. Don will be greatly missed by his family and friends especially his friends at Kennebec Lake near Ottawa, ON, where their cottage is located. His many, many friends enriched his life and for which he was always thankful. Don's warmth, curiosity and passion for life were contagious and evident every day of his life. Don and Helen were married less than a year (December 6th, 2008) and lived in Victoria. A service to celebrate Don's life will be held on Saturday, October 3rd, 2009 at 2 p.m. First Memorial Funeral Services, 4725 Falaise Drive, Victoria.
